Tentative Schedule
Most of the lectures will be held in the Winiarski Building (room 201).
Week 1
- Sunday, 17 June
- 1800-2000: reception and dinner at the Thorpe Room, Peterson Student Center (students from both GWS and GWSII).
- Monday, 18 June
- 0900-0930 (including GWSII): welcome, introductions, and administrative details
- 0930-1200: introduction to computational social science (Miller/Page)
- 1200-1300: lunch (including GWSII students)
- 1300-1330: small group homework problem and computer details
- 1330-1430: meeting for GWSII students
- 1330-: work on homework
- Tuesday, 19 June
- 1000-1200: homework discussion (group presentations)
- 1200-1400: lunch, prepare individual talks
- 1400-1730: individual student talks (~10 minutes each) on
current/future work
- 1900-?: continue student talks (if needed)
- Wednesday, 20 June
- 1000-1200: adaptive computation and applications--John Miller, CMU and SFI
- 1200-1400: lunch
- 1300-1500: complexity, culture, and diversity--Scott Page, U Mich and SFI
- Thursday, 21 June
- 1000: homework write-ups due (single directory with index.html and associated html files)

- Friday, 22 June
- 0830: shuttles to SFI leaving from the circle near the pond
- work and one-on-one project discussions

- 1200-1300: lunch at SFI
- 1700: shuttles return to St. John's
- Saturday, 23 June
- Fun in New Mexico!
Various opportunities, including rafting, pueblo tours, hot
springs, hiking, old churches, ruins, etc., etc.

``referees'')
are due for your Friday paper
- 0900-1230: individual meetings on projects (~15 minutes each)

- 1500-16:15: cities---Geoffrey West, SFI (Peterson)
- 1500-1700: GWSII meeting at SFI to review projects
